Welcome to ID4Car, new partner for CESA 2012

Created at the end of 2005 under the name of Premium Automotive Cluster, the competitiveness cluster iDforCAR supports the innovation in the whole of the Vehicles sector today.
Encouraged by the carmakers, this cluster fulfils the expectations and the needs of all the actors of western France, and particularly the SMEs engaged on the way of niche and specific vehicles. iDforCAR gathers today more than 170 members : enterprises, research laboratories and economic development partners.
More than 74 projects have been certified since 2006. Amongst them, 42 projects have been financed with a global budget of 100 M€, of which 45 M€ came from public R&D aids.
One of the highlights is the AutosarLab programme. Managed by iD4CAR and based on the expertise of two companies, Geensys and Kereval, the ambition is to act as a source of high-level expertise in the development and testing of embedded computer systems. AutosarLab supports projects at every phase of the V-Model, from initial studies to installation testing. The programme includes awareness raising, need detection and support activities.

CESA speaker Top expert from BMW, Ottmar Sirch will make a presentation on 48 volt in Paris, during CESA 2012. He's focusing on dual voltage as the responsible for the Predevelopment of Vehicle Electrical Power Supply Systems. In Munich, the predevelopment projects cover all subjects of electrical power supply in vehicles with combustion engines as well as Hybrid and Electric vehicles. Mr Sirch came to SIA office in Suresnes, near Paris to share his vision for 48 v, a few days ago.

SASHA reduces cost of development of safety critical systems

Last week, an important research project on functional safety just ended. Called SASHA (for Safety check of Automotive Software & Hardware Architecture), this two-year project driven by 6 partners was established to better understand the new standard for functional safety, ISO26262. This standard was applied to a real case of the development of an E-Gas system in order to create a tool for an optimized development process. It also included the modeling of a novel 32bit-microcontroller (ASIL C/D compatible) in TLM (Transaction Level Model). Such modeling allows to make software for a new microcontroller before its final hardware is available and to check details of the interior behavior of the device without opening it. Partners of the project were: - STMicroelectronics, Research partner and Coordinator, - Renault, Delphi, Knowledge Inside, Université de Compiegne and ESG France, Partners.
